English (On Ground; Two Semesters)
This preparatory course focuses on building foundational skills in reading comprehension, literary analysis, and basic composition. Students will be introduced to the essential literary elements, such as theme, plot, character development, and figurative language, through exposure to a variety of short texts, including stories, poems, and excerpts from novels and plays. Content will focus on key Algebra 1 content and skills, introducing students to variables, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, and all their multiple representations. In this class, students will develop the ability to explore and solve real-world application problems, demonstrate the appropriate use of graphing calculators, and communicate mathematical ideas clearly.
Strength & Performance (On Ground; Two Semesters)
We endeavor to develop student-athletes who are Strong in Faith, Strong in Body, and Strong in Mind. Through focused training, athletes will enhance their speed, strength, and technique, prioritizing exercise progression and injury prevention. We utilize data capture to track key performance metrics—such as MPH speed, lower body power output, and exercise movement velocity—driving progress and fostering long-term athletic development. By training in our preparatory program, students build a foundation of speed, strength, and technique, an advantage that paves the way for four years of advanced development at Crean Lutheran High School.
Leadership (Online; One Semester)
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of leadership, providing them with a foundation in both theory and practice. Students explore key aspects of effective leadership, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, and will begin to understand the responsibilities that come with leadership roles. Through activities and projects, students have opportunities to apply their leadership skills. This course aims to prepare students for future leadership opportunities in high school (e.g. Captain).

Specifically, the LSP supports students with documented learning disabilities (i.e. attention deficit disorders, specific learning disabilities, some students who are identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other special education needs) so that their learning needs are accommodated. Students who learn differently are supported by the entire Crean Lutheran community. The overarching goal is to assist students to grow closer in their relationship with Jesus Christ, while helping them excel academically.
